Frank D. “Tinker” Lewis, 74, Meriden, died June 9, 2011, at his home after a long fight with cancer.
He was born March 10, 1937, at Meriden, the son of George Thurman and Maude Alice Phipps Lewis. He was a lifelong resident of the Meriden area.
He worked as a production team member for Heinz Pet Foods in Topeka over 30 years, retiring in 1998. An avid fisherman, he taught many children how to fish.
He married Jeralyn Rose Moore May 7, 1983 at Lawrence. She survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, Jim Lewis, Meriden, and John Lewis, Topeka; one stepson, Scott Reusch, Lansing; three daughters, Annette McMullen, Fayetteville, N.C., Sherri Lewis, Topeka, and Amy Gudenkauf, Meriden; two brothers, Loran Lewis, St. Louis, Mo., and Ed Lewis, Georgetown, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Memorial services were June 13 at the Chapel Oaks Meriden Chapel in Meriden. Inurnment will be at Ozawkie Cemetery.
