Rosena Gier
Rosena Gier, 85, Valley Falls, died May 20, 2011, at a Holton nursing facility.
She was born Oct. 25, 1925, at Rock Creek, the daughter of Moses and Nora Heasler Haun. She graduated from Unity Rural Grade School and later from Rock Creek High School in 1943. Rosie had worked at Kane’s Grocery Store, the IGA Grocery Store, the Farmer’s Cooperative and the U.S. Post Office, all at Meriden, and for Security Benefit at Topeka.
She married Raymond Gier May 14, 1959, at Horton. He died Oct. 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Mort Haun, Dec. 9, 2010.
Survivors include a brother, Roy Haun, Canton, N.C.
A graveside service was held May 23 at the Bloomfield Cemetery, north of Meriden.
