More than 60 people attended the May Day Tea Party May 1 sponsored by the Valley Falls Recreation Commission.

Tea Party

About 60 people attended Sunday's tea party.

Held at the United Methodist Church, a number of round tables were decorated for the occasion by individuals.

Designing the tables were Lesa Brose, Jayne Coleman, Darlene Glassel, Irene Hurst, Roz Jackson, Gerry Metzger, Eleanor Sears, Lucy Thomas, and Jo Tichenor.

The menu consisted of chicken salad on a mini bun, cucumber dill sandwich, goldenrod sandwich, cheese straw, various cookies, cranberry-orange bread, and a lime tart.

The tea was apricot arabesque.

Cynthia Linck, Horton, presented the program on the history of tea, and photographer Mekea Bartlett, Valley Falls, took pictures.

“A Time for Tea” was a successful event, reports Jeri Clark, chairwoman of the recreation commission.

“I thought it was fun,” she said.

Proceeds from the event will go the Delaware Township Library.
