Susie Luellan “Lu” Smith
Susie Luellan “Lu” Smith, 89, Meriden, formerly of Hutchinson, died April 19, 2011, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born March 15, 1922, at Argonia, the daughter of Guy and Lula Hostettler Klinglesmith.
She worked as a meat wrapper for Johnson Meat Company in Hutchinson for many years before her retirement.
She married Darrell Smith Dec. 20, 1941, at Hutchinson. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Alber, Topeka; one sister, Irene Stuart, Phoenix, Ariz.; one granddaughter; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were April 25 at the Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson. Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, was in charge of arrangements.
