JCN junior Dalton Minor edged past a Marysville defender.

The Chargers led by six points at the half but Marysville was able to cut the lead to one possession in the third quarter before the Chargers extended the lead back to double digits. The Chargers were led by Jacob GrandPre with 20 points followed by Dalton Minor with 11 points. The Chargers will play Maur Hill/Mt. Academy on Friday in Marysville. The Chargers are 1-1 versus Maur Hill/Mt. Academy this season.

The Bulldogs led 17-8 after one period but gave up 20 second quarter points and found themselves tied with Sabetha at halftime. The Bulldogs scored only five points in the third quarter and could never catch up. Gavin Swearngin led three Bulldogs in double figures with 16 points followed by Shawn Dailey with 14 points and Carter Gish with 10 points. Sabetha will play ACCHS on Friday in Marysville.

 

 

Valley Falls sub-state regional girls’ Tuesday, March 1

Oskaloosa's Jordan Miller had her shot blocked from behind by a Wathena defender Tuesday night.

The Lady Bears led 19-5 after one period and never looked back Tuesday night at home. The Lady Bears built a 24 point halftime lead. Jordan Miller led the Lady Bears with 12 points followed by Haley Pfau with 10 points. The Lady Bears will play Nemaha Valley on Friday in Valley Falls.

The Lady Dragons built a 22-7 first quarter lead and never scored less than 17 points in any quarter in a first round sub-state thumping of the Lady Cobras. Senior Abbey Kearney had 33 points for the Lady Dragons. Monique Emery and Macie Herrig each had 13 points and three three-point baskets. The Lady Dragons will face Immaculata on Friday at home.
