Steven Rath
Steven Dee “Shorty” Rath, 65, Oskaloosa, died March 17, 2011, at Eventide Convalescent center in Topeka.
He was born Feb. 3, 1946, at Oskaloosa, the son of Glen and Virginia Lewis Rath.
He was a 1964 graduate of Ozawkie Rural High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from Oct. 19, 1965, to May 2, 1969, and was a member of Ozawkie American Legion Post No. 225.
He worked as a carpenter and handyman for many years.
He married Audrey Dowding. they divorced.
Survivors include one brother, Gary Rath, Perry; and sisters Phyllis Bowers, Silver Lake, and Joy Boyd, Topeka.
Memorial services and a luncheon gathering will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at the Ozawkie American Legion Post.
