Mary Diebolt
Mary I. Diebolt, 88, Denton, died March 8, 2011, at the Atchison Medicalodge.
She was born April 25, 1922, in Beardsley, the daughter of Joseph and Sara I. Rooney Studer. She attended school in Brewster.
She helped found the Meadowlark 4-H Club and was a Girl Scout leader.
She married Warren Diebolt Oct. 16, 1940, in Goodland. He preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Anna Mary Diebolt; brother, Hugh Stude; and sisters, Vera Holub and Eva Passig.
Survivors include, a son, John Diebolt, Denton; daughters, Linda Genail, Atchison, Mary Lou Cooper, Atchison, Delores “Dolly” Gudenkauf, Ozawkie, Diann Hull, Grove, Okla., and Joetta “Jo” Lodholz, Houston, Texas; brother, Joe Studer, Denver; sister, Joan Beal, Goodland; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was March 12 at St. Benedict’s Church, Bendena. Burial was in St. Benedict’s Church Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
