The Lady Bulldogs built a 13-8 first quarter lead but ran away from the Eagles in the second quarter holding Maranatha to only three points while scoring 12 points.

The Lady Bulldogs forced 10 turnovers in the second quarter and 11 more in the third quarter while building a lead.

Emma Vavricek hit a bucket to begin the third quarter but the Lady Bulldogs ended the third on a 18-6 run and built a 24-point lead.

The Lady Bulldogs dominated the boards getting second and third chances offensively while limiting Maranatha’s shots.

“(Friday) night we lost because we didn’t have ball movement and we didn’t box out,” McLouth Head Coach Gina Durkes said. “Today I told them to have good ball movement and good box outs and we should be able to win.”

The Lady Bulldogs were able to empty their bench in the fourth quarter with game in hand which led starters to turn into a cheering section on the bench. Durkes said she put five guards on the floor in the fourth and let them play.

“We had a lot more fun,” Durkes said. “We told them to play free offense, dribble, drive and shoot and do what they enjoy.”

Junior Terri Stewart led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points followed by Kaitlyn Hullinger with 13 points.

Cassie Fulk led Maranatha with 11 points.
