Keystone board removes interim from Marshall’s title
by Dennis Sharkey
Keystone Learning Services now has a director without the interim title.
The title was removed from Dr. Tim Marshall by the Keystone Board on Monday night at their monthly meeting.
Marshall said the details of his contract will be finalized about the same time the board finalizes its fiscal budget that will take effect July 1.
Marshall, also part-time superintendent for Jefferson County North USD 339, submitted a letter of resignation to the board last week. His letter was accepted by the board.
Marshall has been serving as part-time interim director of Keystone since last summer but also maintained a part-time status as the superintendent at JCN.
Marshall’s resignation from JCN will take effect June 30 and his status as full-time Keystone director will take effect July 1.
USD 339 board also offered assistant superintendant Denise Jennings a two-year contract to replace Marshall.
Marshall said during this school year Jennings has assumed many of the roles of superintendent and is ready to take over.
“I really think she enjoys doing it,” Marshall said Tuesday morning. “She’s been doing really well and I think the transition will be seamless.”
Marshall said K-8 Co-principal Brandan Giltner will step in as interim Principal for K-8.
In other actions:
Marshall reported that negotiations between Keystone and Jefferson County West USD 340 appear to be over and an agreement has been reached in principal and he expects a formal agreement to be approved by both boards soon.
“It’s going to be a great situation for kids in both counties,” Marshall said. “Hopefully we’ll be good tenants for Jeff West.”
