Hannah Bewley

Hannah Mae Jernigan Bewley, 100, formerly of Perry, died Jan. 28, 2011, at the Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka.

She was born Sept. 10, 1910, at Osage City. She was a 1929 graduate of Osage City High School and attended the Emporia Teacher’s College.

She had taught school for three years in Osage and Lyon counties. She formerly owned and operated the Perry Pub in Perry for a number of years.

She married Clarence Isaacson and they divorced. She married Joseph Raymond Bewley in April 1959 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death March 16, 2005.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Yohe, Garland, Texas, and Lois Jean Brunton, Perry; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Private services are planned. Memorials can be made to Grace Hospice or to the Ozawkie Cemetery sign fund and sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa, 66066.
