Glenn Harold Woolaway

Glenn Harold Woolaway, 77, died Jan. 24, 2011, at his home in Silver Lake.

Glenn WoolawayHe was born Sept. 5, 1933, at Oskaloosa, the son of Roscoe and Minnie Kley Woolaway.

He graduated from Valley Falls High School.

He worked 37 years for Kansas Gas Service Co. and retired from Westar. He served in the Army for two years.

He was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene; Topeka North Post No. 400 of the American Legion; and Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers, and Singers.

He married Mildred Garman in 1954. She survives.

Other survivors are three sons, Robert Woolaway, Decatur, Ill., and Steven Woolaway and Allen Woolaway, both of Topeka; a daughter, Sheryl Garrett, Mooresville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Delores Wehking, Wichita, and Maxine Tolle, Olathe.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.

The family held a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka.
