Jan. 7, 11:05 a.m.: Ruth A. Streeter, 56, Valley Falls, was backing her vehicle up near Jefferson and Delaware streets in Oskaloosa when her vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Judy E. Schuenight, Ozawkie. Witnesses reported that Streeter got out of her vehicle and looked at the damage before pulling next to a dumpster. Witnesses say Streeter sat there for a couple of minutes before driving off.
Jan. 7, 5:42 p.m.: Rodolfo Robles-Sanchez, 44, Topeka, was traveling east on U.S. 24 Hwy. and was slowing down to turn south onto Wilson Road. A vehicle driven by Jeremy D. Dame, 22, McLouth, was traveling behind Robles-Sanchez and did not see his vehicle slowing down in time to avoid rear ending Robles-Sanchez’s vehicle.
Jan. 18, 5:42 a.m.: Craig A. Anderson, 41, St. Joseph, Mo., was traveling along K-4 Hwy., near U.S. 59 Hwy. and towing two trailers. Anderson reported that a wind gust combined with icy roads caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The trailers he was towing went into the median causing his truck to jackknife. No injuries or damage to other vehicles or property was reported.
Jan. 19, 12:11 p.m.: DeAnna K. Huske, 53, Topeka, was traveling along K-4 Hwy. near 54th Street when she tapped her brakes to slow down at an upcoming curve. The action caused her vehicle to slide off into the west ditch, struck an embankment and then flipped onto its top. No injuries were reported.
Jan. 19, 1:37 p.m.: Linda K. Johnson, 66, Leavenworth, was traveling east on K-16 Hwy. near Wellman Road when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway. The vehicle slid into the ditch.
The following drivers recently struck deer on county roadways:
