Students from Jefferson County high schools compete in Quest

Teams from Jefferson County North, Jefferson West, and Perry-Lecompton high schools were among 58 teams that took part in Quest Super Saturday at Washburn University Dec. 4.

Jefferson West was named one of the top 16 teams and advanced to finals. They also took home the second place Class 4A trophy.

Teams earning the top 16 scores advanced to the finals and will return to Topeka several times for taping sessions. The televised Quest competition will air on KTWU next year when the championship team will be named.

The contest allows teams of high school students from across Kansas to compete against one another in answering questions on topics such as art, literature, history, math and science.

The contest is co-sponsored by KTWU-PBS station and Washburn University.
