Delene Sherretts

Delene Ruth Sherretts, 80, Topeka, died Dec. 26, 2010.

She was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Wakarusa, the daughter of Clarence and Faye Morris Redenbaugh. She resided in Meriden most of her life, before moving to Topeka in 1989. She was employed by the state of Kansas, retiring after 13 years.

She was a 50-year member of Meriden Community Church. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America, serving as troop leader and Cookie Cupboard for 10 years in the Topeka area.

She married Louis R. Sherretts Sept. 18, 1949. He survives.

Other survivors include three children, Shirley Ann Sherretts, Topeka, Rick Sherretts, Leavenworth, and Kimberley Sherretts, Topeka; twin grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, 66608. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. A visitation was held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
