Connie Seeger

Connie Jean Seeger, 77, Meriden, died Dec. 9, 2010, at her home in rural Meriden.

She was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Atchison, the daughter of Clyde Joseph and Cleo Margaret Jones Van Wey. She had lived in Meriden since 1972.

She was a 1951 graduate of Atchison High School. She had worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for a number of years, and had worked as a clerk for J.C. Penney and Two Hearts gift shop, both in Topeka.

She married Lawrence “Larry” Edward Seeger Nov. 8, 1952, at Atchison. He survives at the home.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald “Ron” K. Seeger, Topeka, and Steven Michael Seeger, Delta Junction, Alaska; three daughters, Genny McDonald, Moscow Mills, Mo., Cindy Seeger, Wichita, and Aimee Dockweiler, Valley Falls; two brothers, Fred Larry VanWey, Atchison, and Jack VanWey, Ireland; three sisters, Betty Katalin, Pittsburgh, Pa., Becky Edwards, Weston, Mo., and Marion Wilson, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack VanWey Sr. and Dick VanWey, and a sister, Margaret Nicholson.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson Assembly of God Church in Meriden. Inurnment will be at Meriden Cemetery.
