Freda Meyer

Freda May Meyer, 97, McLouth, died Nov. 3, 2010, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

She was born March 24, 1913, at Baldwin City, the daughter of James Pinckney and Olive Collins Hall. She was a 1932 graduate of McLouth High School.

She was a member of the McLouth First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was a past president of the McLouth Senior Citizens. Freda was a homemaker and had also worked as a nurse’s aide at the Jefferson County Geriatric Center in Winchester for 10 years.

She married Lester Carl “L.C.” Meyer April 8, 1933, at McLouth. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1987. She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Alicia and Fred Wood, McLouth, and a nephew raised as a son, Jim McDaniel, Anniston, Ala.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Hall, and a sister, Lula McDaniel, and two brothers and a sister in infancy.

Funeral services were Nov. 8 at the McLouth First Baptist Church. Burial was at the McLouth Cemetery.
