Leonard Lange

Leonard William “Leony” Lange, 69 of Cummings KS passed away Sunday September 26, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Funeral service will be 10:00AM Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison KS, with Pastor Gary Patterson, Cummings Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Cummings Cemetery.

Family received friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the funeral home.

Leonard “Leony” was born March 22, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Henry William and Nina Louise (Andrews) Lange.

He graduated from ACCHS in 1959. Leonard “Leony” was a fourth generation farmer, he was a member of the Cummings Christian Church, he was on the USD 377 School Board for sixteen year, a member of the District 5 Water Shed Board, Vo-Tech Board and the Masonic Lodge of Atchison. He enjoyed visiting with people, hand fishing and being a part of community and family.

Leonard “Leony” Lange married Nancy Jane Dobbs on December 22, 1968 in Cummings, KS. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include six daughters; Melynda and Karl Swoyer, Oskaloosa, KS, Anna Michelle and Brian Humphrey, Tulsa, OK, Melissa Fields, Mayetta, KS, Nancy Dee and Robert Brader, Carlsbad, NM, Rebecca and Richard Edmonds, Winchester, KS, Mary Melton, Cummings, KS, two sisters, Mary Oliver, Waco, TX, Nancy Heineken, Holton, KS, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha McGinnis.
