Vandals keep adding to the destruction at daycare

It began as a small thing. A rock through the window at the Little Oak Daycare. Did someone throw it? Maybe.
Then someone opened the hydrant behind the house and the water ran all night. A cable to the television antenna was cut.
Monday morning the owners found someone had entered the porch and cut or slashed holes in all the curtains.
Adding it all up, it amounts to a lot and daycare owners Jami Heinen and Kayla Callahan believe it’s time to go public to let people know these things are happening in the community and encourage neighbors to watch out for one another.
“My mother-in-law made the curtains for this porch,” Heinen said. “It’s a shame someone would be this thoughtless.”
The incidents came in pairs strung out over a month.
Police Chief Tammy Gross said she hasn’t had any other reports from residents in the community concerning petty vandalism recently.
“It takes people keeping an eye out and watching,” Gross said. “Only neighbors watching out for each other can put a stop to this stuff.”
