The Kaws got off to a much different start than last year with a 49-28 win over Marysville.

After making an appearance in the state title game in 2008, the Kaws got off to a rough start last year and finished the season with only two wins.

Perry-Lecompton’s Trent Robb was the star of the game. Robb returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. Robb also had a two-yard touchdown run and a 36-yard touchdown reception from Jeremy Immenschuh. Robb totaled 129 yards rushing on 18 carries and 75 yards on three catches. Luke Kellum finished with 105 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown. Immenschuh was 9 for 10 with 117 yards passing and a touchdown.
