Barbara Jean Boyd Hargis, 55, Oskaloosa, died Sept. 15, 2010, at her home after battling cancer since 2007.
She was born Nov. 5, 1954, at Anoka, Minn., the daughter of Virgil LeRoy and Frances Kraska Lindholt. She was a 1972 graduate of Hoyt Lakes (Minn.) High School and she attended the Minnestoa School of Business.
She worked as a warehouse team leader for the Payless Shoe Distribution Center in Topeka for 25 years. She formerly had worked at Welch Wood products in Perry for five years.
She met her husband, Tom Hargis, in 1990 and they have been companions for 18 years. They were married July 9, 2010, at Oskaloosa and he survives at home.
Other survivors include her father, Virgil L. Lindholt, Hoyt Lakes; two sons, Dustin Boyd, Fort Worth, Texas, and Michael Boyd, Oskaloosa; one daughter, April Kirby, Germany; four stepdaughters, Hannah Hoyt, Chelsea Hargis, Michelle Laughlin, Lori Laughlin, all of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Patrick Lindholt, Paola; four sisters, Pamela Kreiensieck, St. Paul, Minn., Gwen Hill, Burnsville, Minn., Jennifer Swedberg, Fridley, Minn., and Kristine Behnke, Huntington, W.V.; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances K. Lindholt, Dec. 9, 2009.
Funeral services were Sept. 20 at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.
