Doriane P. Doyon
Doriane P. Doyon, 79, Lewiston, Maine, died March 25, 2007, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was born Nov. 21, 1927, at Lewiston, the daughter of Emile and Henedine Gagne Poulin. She had worked as a bookkeeper. After retiring from work, she was a volunteer for several years at the Androscoggin County (Maine) Home Health and Hospice. Mrs. Doyon enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing, golf, line dancing and speed walking.
She married Rene L. Doyon May 7, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Auburn, Maine. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Peggy Collier, and husband, Steve, Ozawkie; two sons, Larry Doyon, and wife, Sue, Mt. Jewett, Pa., and David Doyon, Pembroke, N.H.; two sisters, Liette LeBrasseur, Sabattus, Maine, and Marielle St. Hilaire, Lewiston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and her brother.
A funeral Mass will be said April 27 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lewiston. Memorial contributions can be made to the Maine Alzheimer’s Association.
Michael Deck
Michael E. “Mickey” Decker, 65, McPherson, died April 13, 2007, at his home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1941, at McPherson, the son of Otis Mitchell Jr. and Frances Brumback Decker. He lived most of his life in McPherson except from 1973 to 1979 when he lived at Valley Falls. He was a carpenter, painter, and musician. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1959 and attended Emporia State University.
Survivors include sons, Michael Decker, Topeka, Joseph Decker, Lindsborg, and Cody Decker, McPherson; daughters, Michele Herring, Meriden, Amy Gust, Valley Falls, Jessica Decker, Lindsborg, and Megan Decker, McPherson; a brother, Raymond Steele, Dumas, Texas; sisters, Patty Nealy, Redding, Calif., and Sue Jamison, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 18 at the First Christian Church in McPherson. Burial was in the McPherson Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Mickey Decker Memorial Fund and sent in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, 67460.
