Frank Connelly

Francis A. “Frank” Connelly, 92, Tonasket, Wash., formerly of Winchester, died Dec. 13, 2009, at his home.

He was born April 5, 1917, at Winchester, the son of Raymond S. and Ina Mae Courtney Connelly.

He moved from Winchester in 1941 and enlisted in the Merchant Marines in 1944, serving as a seaman and as an electrical and refrigeration engineer. He also worked at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, Calif., building airplanes.

He was a member of the former Hebron Baptist Church and the Seafarer International Union.

He is survived by one brother, Marvin Connelly, McLouth, and a sister, Hazel H. Fry, Lawrence.

Services were Dec, 31 at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial was at the Winchester-Wise Cemetery, Winchester.
