Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 Corps will allow 14 to hunt Slough Creek by Davis Publications staff Applications are being taken for a chance for youth to hunt deer in the Slough Creek Park area of Perry Lake. The Corps of Engineers will conduct a drawing and award 14 permits to allow hunting in the area Dec. 8 and 9. This is the fifth annual youth firearms deer hunt in the area. Applicants must be between 12 and 15 years old, a Kansas resident, have an adult sponsor 21 years old or older, and have all the required permits and licenses. The youth and the sponsor must also attend a meeting prior to the hunt. Applicants must supply their own hunting equipment, but blinds will be provided.
