Free CPR courses to be provided at Valley Falls

by Clarke Davis

The Valley Falls Recreation Commission will sponsor cardio-pulmonary resuscitation classes from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 23.

The classes will be given in the band and vocal rooms at the school.

One class of 15 will be for certification. This class was filling fast and there were only two slots open as we go to press.

The other class is for the the general public and will have 30 openings.

“This is a good class for baby-sitters, caregivers, parents, grandparents, or simply anyone who thinks they could benefit,” said Heather Allen, a recreation commission member.

The classes are being offered free of charge by the Jefferson County Ambulance Service in recognition of Heart Awareness Month. The recreation commission is picking up the tab for the books and materials.

To enroll in the certified class, call Allen at 231-0342. There is no need to reserve space for the noncertified class.
